The Goddess Goodie Wrap – 3/11/11

Goddess Goodie Wrap Header

Good morning and what can I tell you this week….

This week has moved at a glacial pace it seems like.  But now it’s Friday.  A couple of new flicks come out this week and I have Battle: Los Angeles on my radar.  Possibly Red Riding Hood, but that’s one I’m actually protesting against.  However, due to a marker being called in, I’ll probably go see it.  I guess it’s not cool to have a foul taste for a film before I actually see it.  I shall ::snicker, snicker:: remain objective until such time warrants me to feel otherwise.  Until then….I give you this week’s Goodie Wrap!

Time Vampires:

Ok this whole Time Vampire section is like the kiss of death for me.  But I love it.  But I can’t stay away from these damn things.  Hence the name right?  Today’s time vampire is a little online game called EPIC COASTER! When I type that I hear an echo in my head.  So yeah, Epic Coaster….online game that really only requires the use of the space bar.  How simple right?  Hit the space bar at the right time to jump the breaks and level changes in the tracks.  It also comes complete with a rad soundtrack.  Don’t let the simplicity fool you.  It’s addictive!  Don’t get caught playing this at work.  And if you do, don’t tell them where you found it.  Keep my name out of it will ya? Movie Related Humor:

You know, I really love it when you find random geeky things in the strangest of places.  Movie related humor just puts a smile on my face.  This one is courtesy of a Barista with a sense of humor and penchant for The Watchmen.  If I walked into a Starbucks and saw this sign, I would seek out said Barista and give them a high-five.  My question here is  how many customers actually got the reference and were able to appreciate it.  I’d like to have done a survey here.

Motivational Posters:

Those damn motivational posters make me want to do the exact opposite of what they say.  Especially if I’m in a bad mood.  But they’re kind of pretty to look at and they’ve given loads of people who have absolutely nothing better to do, something to do.  And that something, is make fun of them.  This is one of the joys of the internet.  You can find stuff like this. Video:

Watching people dance can be mesmerizing or flat-out painful.  It depends on the person and how they’re dancing.  This video is just….rad.  Sam Rockwell has got some serious moves and you’d know this if you’ve seen any of his movies.  Seems he likes to bust a move in every movie he makes.  Here’s a compilation that is Goodie Wrap worthy.  Behold, the Rockwell.

This next video is actually somewhat informative.  Really it serves as in infographic on kissing.  It also has a bunch of movie clips with people kissing.  Now, just because I’m posting this doesn’t mean I’m some sappy, sentimental girl.  My friends would tell you otherwise.  I’m only posting this for the very last factoid the video gives.  And you should watch it because what this video says at the end,  is the truth.  C’mon, it’s only a couple of minutes.  You can stop playing Epic Coaster long enough to watch it.

Random Thoughts:

The season finale of White Collar aired this week.  I don’t know what it is, but for some reason the sound on this show is horrible.  Whoever is in charge needs to fix the problem.  There’s serious audio level issues going on here.  While they’re at it, they also need to do better work in the explosions area.  It’s just bad.  But now I’m just getting all nit-picky.

News came out this week that Sylvester Stallone may not write or direct the sequel to The Expendables.  This bums me out a little bit, but I’m not sure why.  The first one was horrible.  And awesome.  It was horriblawesome.  I’m still looking forward to the sequel.

There’s a new trailer for Fast Five out and even though it is filled with pretty much every cliché, I still got super excited for it.  I’m not quite sure what this says about me but I’m sure it has nothing to do with Vin Diesel or His Rockness, Dwayne Johnson.

I’m not one to get motion sickness.  Violence in movies normally doesn’t bother me either.  Aside from the late night drunk cam effects of the “found footage” craze I have a relatively strong stomach.  This website has achieved what nothing else ever has.  I felt psychically ill after scouring through pages and pages.  What’s sad is this site is all about food.  Not rotten food or crazy food from other countries, but things you would see on Man vs. Food.  You just have to see it to believe it.

That brings another week to a close folks.  Once again I thank you all for hanging about.  I’ll leave you with this final video of semi-awesome-ness.  It’s only semi awesome because the embed code has been disabled.  Otherwise it would be full-tilt awesome.  It’s made it way around the web time and time again and I’m sure you’ll roll your eyes, but I still love it and it makes me laugh.  So on that note, I’ll leave you with some words of wisdom:

“Go that way.  Really fast.  If something gets in your way, turn.”
