Saturday Trailer Wrap

Movie-Trailers

When I first started Reel Goddess I made a commitment to myself to not post a bunch of stuff about trailers and news.  There are so many other sources to get that info these days.  That’s not to say that I won’t post news bits here and there, and as for trailers….. I have decided to pick a few at the end of the week and do a little round-up of sorts.  Good idea no?

So here’s four of the most recent that have caught my eye.  It’s like one stop shopping!  See, I’m making your life easier by posting them all in one spot.  You’re welcome.  No really, I don’t mind at all.  I’m just happy to help you out.

Super 8

Ok, so Super 8 is the latest to come from the mastermind of J.J. Abrams.  The man behind Alias, Lost, and oh yeah, that little reboot called STAR TREK! He’s a genius.  And Steven Spielberg is attached to this one as well.  It’s a win-win!  It’s got that small-town-meets-alien-life quality that Spielberg is known for.  It also has that secretive you-don’t-know-what’s-really-going-on vibe that Abrams is known for.  This is at the top of my 2011 list for sure.

Fast Five

As I mentioned in the Goodie Wrap post for this week, I got pretty excited after watching the new Fast Five trailer.  What can I say? I dig these movies.  Yeah yeah, I know they’re not the cinematic equivalent of the Golden Ticket, but hey, sometimes you just want to be entertained.  What’s so wrong with that?  And it’s got Vin Diesel and The Rock.  Bonus!!

The Hangover Pt. II

So this is a teaser and not an actual trailer.  I really hope they’re able to capture lightning in a bottle twice with this material.  I’m so afraid it’s going to flop like a bad souffle.  We don’t have to wait too long to find out.

Bad Teacher

So there’s two versions of this trailer out.  There’s the red band trailer and the green band.  This is the green band option.  Cameron Diaz doesn’t really do much for me.  Neither does Justin Timberlake.  I like them both well enough but the selling point for me here is Jason Segel.  I will say that Cameron Diaz has decent comedy chops and this does look pretty funny.  I just hope that the funny parts aren’t all in the trailers.  Because that really sucks when that happens.

So there you have it.  A couple of pretty good trailers to start your Saturday off right.  What films are you most looking forward to this year?

Bad Teacher actually looks pretty funny. Diaz always seems funny and quirky. I like it.

Super 8 might be good but it looks over stylized. If that makes sense.

Bad Teacher does look pretty funny. It’s one I’d see for sure.
As for Super 8, I see what you mean. I have faith in both Abrams & Spielberg though. Not to mention I’m a sucker for this kind of film. Thanks for reading & commenting :)

Thanks for the sneak peek..I could go see any of those…well, except for The Hangover II. I didn’t see the 1st one and I’ve survived more of those than I care to mention, or re-live! Well Done girl.
