Saturday Trailer Wrap – 3/26/11
Pssssst. Hey you. Yeah, you! You know what today is? It’s Saturday. That means it’s time for the Saturday Trailer Wrap. Make the jump and check them out.
Captain America:
I posted the teaser for this last week, but Marvel finally released the full length trailer, and it looks awesome. This gives a much more in-depth look at the film, the costume and shield and Chris Evans. They’ve done a good job with this trailer because even though I wanted to see it before, I really want to see it now.
Larry Crowne:
Tom Hanks is one of those actors where I forget just how much I like him, until I see one of his movies. I like Julia Roberts too, but I really really like Tom Hanks. In Larry Crowne he brings back the funny which is nice to see since he’s so good at it. He also directed this one and wrote it with Nia Vardalos (from My Big Fat Greek Wedding, which Hanks produced.)
Hanna:
This movie looks crazy! I really hope it’s as good as the trailer makes it seem. I really like Eric Bana and Saoirse Ronan gets better and better. Then there is Cate Blanchett who makes any movie better. I just hope that southern accent she seems to have in this one doesn’t weigh her down at all.
Apollo 18:
The found footage craze continues apparently in Apollo 18. I’m neither for this format nor against it. Some movies that have used this style have bothered me while other haven’t. I could barely make it through Blair Witch, but didn’t have any trouble with Cloverfield. I had issues with Paranormal Activity, but not the second one. We’ll see how my eyes hold up to this one. It’s science fiction and set on the moon so that’s really all I need to know.
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides:
I was a bit apprehensive when word came down that Disney was proceeding with a fourth Pirates film. I didn’t much care for the second and while the third was better, it still didn’t compare to the first. In the newest entry into the saga, Jack’s back but without Elizabeth and Will (which is ok by me). I love Johnny Depp in this role, but the selling point for this film, for me, is Ian McShane and the return of Geoffrey Rush. The trailer actually looks pretty good and I think this will be a fun film to kick off the summer film season.
That wraps things for up this week folks. Come on back next week for the latest trailers and before then for other goodies. Have a great weekend everyone!
