The Goddess Goodie Wrap – 4/1/11

Goddess Goodie Wrap Header

Happy April Fools Day everyone.  And Happy Friday as well.  Today’s Goodie Wrap is short and sweet.  I’ve had a bit of a crazy week, but it’s been productive.  Thankfully!  Now I’m preparing to hit up WonderCon tomorrow.  It’s my first so I’m not quite sure what to expect, but I hope to have some good stuff to share with you all next week.  If it’s anything like a Star Trek convention, it’ll be an excellent source for people watching.  And now onward to the business at hand.

April Fools Day:

Well today is April Fools Day and normally this day irritates me.  However, today is different.  Since I discovered ThinkGeek.com April 1st represents a whole new level of awesome.  Every year, the site posts fake products just to psych out their visitors.  Obviously people have caught on and now it’s a “thing” they do, but it’s still pretty funny.  They even got a cease and desist letter for their Unicorn Meat product.

But we must keep in mind that an awesome fake product can become a reality.  Just look at the Tauntaun Sleeping Bag.  I rest my case.  Be sure to check out all of their previous April Fools Day fake products.

You’ll find all of this year’s pranks on the front page including the one featured in the picture.  I find their lack of taste disturbing. (No, not really.)

Products:

Star Wars Plush with Sound: I want this so bad.  At least the Chewbacca one.  I know a couple of newborns that must have at least one of these.  Why couldn’t they have this kind of stuff when I was a kid?  You should get one of these stat! (via ThinkGeek) PS…this is not part of ThinkGeek’s April Fool’s Day joke…..they were posted on the site before today.

Videos:

Talk about talent!  This kid has more talent than a lot singers that have major recording contracts.  In this video he’s basically a one man Disney movie.  He does all sorts of different parts, from different Disney movies but it’s all edited together.  It’s a tad long, but worth it.  From what I could find, this guy is an employee at Pixar but I couldn’t find what he does there.  He needs to be doing voice over work that’s for sure! Random Thoughts:

-Thank you to F/X for renewing Justified for a third season.  This is a great show and this season so far has been even better than last season.  It’s a perfect role for Timothy Olyphant as well.  We all know I have a soft spot for him so I’ll say that I’m quite happy he’s going to be on my TV for another season.

-There’s been talk that a Justice League script is in the works along with a film script for The Flash and a film script for Wonder Woman.  However, apparently the JLA in question doesn’t have anything to do with the new Superman film being directed by Zach Snyder, nor Christopher Nolan’s Batman films.  To me, that just doesn’t seem right.  I hate the thought of yet another person playing Batman.  We’ll have to wait and see where this goes.

-The trailer for MTV’s Teen Wolf is awful.

-Lou Diamond Phillips is one cool cat.  Last weekend he made a comment on Twitter about being in DC.  I sent him a tweet saying how my best friend was in DC and that day was actually her birthday.  He actually responded with a birthday shout out.  See the image below.  Lou…..you’re awesome!  Oh yeah….I’m really bummed about Stargate Universe.  Just sayin’.

That’s all I have this week folks.  Like I said, short and sweet.  Even though I’ll be at WonderCon tomorrow, the weekly trailer wrap will still be posted tomorrow.  Check back again next week for all sort of WonderCon goodies (hopefully) as well as my wrap up on all three Punisher movies.  I watched them all and in order.  It was…..interesting.

Have a great weekend everyone!
