More News from Bag End
More news has come down the pipe regarding the The Hobbit. It seems like the film is still having to jump through hurdles even though they’re a month in to filming. It doesn’t seem to put a huge damper on the production, but it’s still a hurdle none the less.
Peter Jackson took it to Facebook on Sunday with an update. Here’s what he had to say:
I am sad to report that Rob Kazinsky, who was cast in the role of Fili, is having to leave The Hobbit and return home, for personal reasons. Rob has been terrific to work with and his enthusiasm and infectious sense of humour will be missed by all of us. I should say that Rob’s departure will not affect ongoing filming of The Hobbit, nor will it impact work done to date, as we had yet to film much of Fili’s storyline. At the moment we are shooting scenes featuring Bilbo without the Dwarves, which will give us time to find a new Fili. I’ll keep everyone posted with updates as they come.
Cheers,
Peter J
I love how Jackson is keeping everyone up to date. It’s a bummer to have to go through something like this and find a replacement but at least they weren’t too far into his characters shooting process. If you aren’t familiar with the character, Fili is one of the thirteen dwarves in the story that tag along with Bilbo.
Peter Jackson is doing an awesome job of keeping his followers up to date. I hope he decided to do another video because that last one was great to watch. Keep an eye out, because I’ll be posting news as it comes down.
