Saturday Trailer Wrap – 5/7/11

Movie-Trailers

Ohhhh I have a handful of trailers for you today.  I was worried that I wasn’t going to have anything new and I hate showing different trailers for the same movies I’ve already featured.  This is all new stuff so here you go!

Colombiana

Starring Zoe Saldana, who’s hotter that the sun right now, Colombiana was also written and produced by Luc Besson.  This is the guy that did La Femme Nikita and The Professional.  If you’ve been waiting for 15 years for a sequel to The Profession that shows what happened to Matilda, this will have to do.  Young girl, sees parents get murdered, spends rest of her life seeking revenge.  But Saldana looks like a bad ass in this and there’s other familiar faces as well.  See for yourself.  Colombiana is due to be released on September 2nd, 2011.

Conan the Barbarian

Finally we get to see a full length Conan trailer.  I have no opinion of this film.  I’ll probably go see it.  I guess the trailer looks pretty cool.  I’m not super amped up for this film, but Jason Momoa looks to be the part.  Kind of.  But I really really like Stephen Lang.  I guess we’ll have to wait and see if this one ends up doing well or ends up as a disaster.  Conan the Barbarian comes out August 19th, 2011.

30 Minutes or Less

I didn’t know anything about this one until I watched the trailer.  Jesse Eisenberg and Aziz Ansari star in this one.  Eisenberg is Nick, a pizza deliver guy who get jacked by weird guys in masks.  They strap a bomb vest to him with orders to rob a bank or they’ll blow him up.  He enlists the help of his buddy, Chet and comedy ensues.  It looks pretty funny to be honest.  I like both of those guys and oh yeah, Danny McBride is in it too.  30 Minutes or Less comes out on August 12th, 2011.

Stake Land

Another vampire film.  This looks to be really dark and gruesome too.  No glittery, fangless vamps here my friends!  Martin is a normal kid.  Well trying to be anyway.  America is a wasteland due to economic and political upheaval (sound familiar??) and hey, there’s a vampire epidemic too.  He teams up with Mister, who is walking, talking, vampire killing machine and heads north to Canada to rejoin what’s left of the human race.  This one is traveling the film fest. circuit right now.  I don’t know if it’ll make a wide release, but keep your eyes out.  Kelly McGillis is also in this.  Remember her?  Yeah, Charlie from Top Gun?  She looks different.  I haven’t seen her since I came across SuperGator on SyFy a while back.

The Tree of Life

This is the new one by Terrence Malick and stars Brad Pitt and Sean Penn.  I can’t pinpoint what this film is about aside from a husband and wife raising three boys in the 1950′s and how those events shape at least one of the boys as he grows up.  I will say that the trailer is visually stunning and this film has two great actors.  This one will be worth a look for sure when it’s released on May 27th.  However that is a limited release date.  No word on a wide release yet.

Beautiful Boy

I didn’t know anything about this film either until I just happened across the trailer.  I saw the name Michael Sheen and that’s all I needed.  I adore him.  He stars alongside Maria Bello as a husband and wife find out their son was responsible for a mass shooting at his college, then committed suicide.  The couple’s relationship is already strained.  Now they much navigate the way through the grief and media uproar to find a way to move on.  I have to say this one looks pretty good.  And powerful.  Keep your eyes open, I can’t find a release date for this one.

Ok kids, that’s it for this week.  Have a super weekend!

I’m looking forward to seeing Stake Land because it is vampire movie that does not sparkle and it has Eric from Gossip Girl. At first, I was like is that him? Then yes, it is Eric.
Have you seen the trailer for The Three Musketeers in 3D? It looks interesting and a little steampunky. Milla Jovovich is in it and she looks awesome.

Hahaha! I agree. I really hope Stake Land plays somewhere close to me. I have only seen the first trailer for the new Muskateers film. It looks fun & I like Milla Jovovich.
