Saturday Trailer Wrap – 5/28/11

Movie-Trailers

Scary dreams, storm shelters, Muppets, sharks and……smurfs.  That’s what’s in store for you in the Trailer Wrap this week.  The bonus is George Clooney.  Because he’s easy on the eyes that’s why.  So sit back and kick your feet up and check out this week’s installment.

Take Shelter:

I just came across this trailer and thought it looked mighty intriguing.  Michael Shannon is one of those actors that flies under the radar, but is rock solid in every role he plays.  Take Shelter is about a husband and father who begins to have disturbing nightmares and as a result, feels compelled to build and stock a storm shelter.  Are his dreams a premonition or the beginnings of some sort of psychosis?  Find out on October 7, 2011.

The Muppets:

I can’t help but be kind of giddy about a new Muppets movie.  The Muppets were a staple during my childhood and I’m very happy that there’s a new movie.  The bonus here is that Jason Segel not only stars in it, but he also wrote it.  Would it be too much to ask for his Dracula musical to make an appearance?  Pretty please?  The Muppets take to the screen on November 23, 2011.

The Smurfs:

I have nothing to say about this except…..why?  The Smurfs hit theaters on July 29th, 2011.

The Descendants:

All I have to say about this is George Clooney.  Love him!  Here he plays a father who doesn’t have the closest relationship with his daughters, but has to step up his paternal game after his wife suffers from a boating accident.  Truths are revealed and relationships are forever changed.  This one looks really good and looks to showcase, once again, what a great actor George Clooney really is.  The Descendants arrives in theaters on December 16th, 2011.

Shark Night 3D

That is indeed the actual title.  Pretty people gathering together to do pretty people things when not so pretty things happen.  This one looks RA-DIC-U-LOUS!  But since I saw Piranha 3D in the theaters I’ll probably get roped into going to see this one as well.  Here’s a tip for all those pretty people, don’t go into water you can’t see through.  It’s just that simple.  Shark Night 3D will bite your leg off on September 14th, 2011.  I know you can’t wait.

That does it for this week folks.  Now get outside and enjoy some (hopefully) good weather on this fine holiday weekend.  Have a great Memorial Day weekend and for God’s sake, be careful out there.  Don’t forget to thank and or hug a soldier!  Until next week!

I got to say that the Muppet trailer was my favorite. I don’t know how the movie is going to be but it really caught my attention midway through it.

You’re right about Jason Segel. He is pretty much great in everything he does but I’m always afraid when they take on a classic franchise. They always change a little of themselves for it.

His humor may be affected by the rating, but since he’s managed to still kill it on network TV, I think it’ll be ok. I just hope it end up being as awesome as I think it’s going to be.
