Welcome to summer everyone.  It’s been raging hot in my town but hopefully some of you out there are enjoying some decent weather where you don’t get third degree burns just taking out the trash.  How about just staying inside with the A/C cranked down to two and catch up on some trailers?  Sound good?  Here we go.

Footloose

No, not that Footloose.  The new Footloose.  And by new I mean completely unnecessary remake.  And by remake I mean an almost identical interpretation.  Same character names.  Same town.  Same yellow VW bug.  Some of the clothing is almost the same. You know the skinny tie and black jacket that Original Ren wore on his first day to the new school? Yep.  Obviously the dancing is much more risqué and the music is updated but the rest?  The same.  I hurt my eyes from rolling them too hard while I watched this.  I just…..I can’t.  But please, feel free.  Get ready to cut footloose on October 14th, 2011.

A Dangerous Method

A period piece with Viggo Mortensen playing Sigmund Freud and Michael Fassbender as Carl Jung and Kiera Knightly as a troubled woman named Sabina Speilrein.  Sabina is a troubled woman and is being treated by Jung who end up having an affair with her.  I get a bit of a Fatal Attraction vibe from this trailer.  It’s a short one though so perhaps once we get a look at a longer trailer, it might have a different feel.  I haven’t seen a release date for this one just yet however.

Flypaper

It’s nice to see Ashley Judd back in front of the camera.  This time she’s with Patrick Dempsey.  She’s a bank teller, he’s the customer and they’re both in the bank at closing, right when it gets robbed by two different gangs of bank robbers.  One is pro, the other, not so much.  Since this is coming from the writers of The Hangover I suspect some laughs.  I’m hoping anyway.  I’m not sure when we’ll find out however, because a  wide release date hasn’t been set.  It’s in limited release starting August 19, 2011.

Killer Elite

Ok. A movie starring Clive Owen, Jason Statham and Robert DeNiro?  Yes please!  Apparently this is based on a true story about a British Elite Special Air Serviceman (Statham) who comes out of retirement when his mentor (DeNiro) is kidnapped.  But first he has to go up again three assassins and their nefarious leader (Owen).  Shhhhyeah! I love me some Clive Owen.  Even if he does rock a questionable mustache in this one.  And Statham is just rad too.  All over it.  You should be too on September 23, 2011.

The Muppets

Ok, so here’s the real full length trailer for The Muppets.  This one is all about the movie and with every trailer that’s released, faux or not, I get more excited.  Have I mentioned how much I love Jason Segel?  I’m giddy that he’s the one who brought The Muppets back.  The time to play the music and light the lights will arrive on November 23, 2011.

Captain America

This is the second theatrical trailer to be released for ole Cap.  It. Looks. Incredible.  I don’t really know anything about the comic, but from what I can tell from the trailers, this movie is going to rock.  Seriously.
