Saturday Trailer Wrap – 7/23/11
This week seems to be a mix of comics and creepy. Oh and a little smidge of action thrown in for good measure. There have been some great trailers coming out in the last couple of weeks. With Comic-Con taking place this weekend I suspect there will be loads of footage to feast on for the next week or so. Until then..onward ho!
The Amazing Spider-Man
Well it’s finally here. The new trailer for the Spider-Man reboot. I actually think this trailer looks to be pretty good. I like the cast that director Marc Webb has put together. Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Martin Sheen, Sally Fields and Rhys Ifans all star in this one. I don’t care for the POV shot that comes toward the end of the trailer however. If there is a bunch of this in the film, I’m in trouble. My eyes can’t take that kind of camera work. The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters July 3, 2012.
The Dark Knight Rises
Ok so this is just a teaser but since it’s for the new Batman film, I can’t not post it. I loved the first two and the vision that Chris Nolan has when it comes to this character. This one will wrap up his trilogy and from what this teaser trailer shows, it should pan out to be pretty epic. I love Christian Bale in the role and Nolan added Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Tom Hardy to the mix as well, which are huge bonuses. Batman will beat you senseless on July 20, 2012.
Dream House
I just recently heard word about this one. Daniel Craig stars with real-life wife Rachel Weisz play a married couple who move their family into a seemingly dream house. That is until freaky things start to happen and they find out about the grisly murders that took place there. Got to love the haunted house stories. Looks creepy and interesting and it’s got Daniel Craig in it so yeah…..SOLD! Dream House will give you nightmares on September 30, 2011.
Paranormal Activity 3
I really didn’t want to want to see this. I was apprehensive about part two but ended up liking what they did with it. Then news came down that the guys behind the film Catfish were on deck to take the helm of the third installment. This one seems to follow the pattern by taking the story back to the past again. This time it’s about Katie and Kristi as young girls. This trailer is creepy and gave me goosebumps which ultimately means, I’m going to have to see this. Paranormal Activity will scare the sh*t out of you on October 21, 2011.
Drive
This is a red band trailer so be warned. It must be because of the violence shown, otherwise it’s not too bad. This one stars Ryan Gosling and Cary Mulligan. Gosling is a stunt driver by day and wheel man by night. He helps out his neighbor, played by Mulligan and things go downhill from there. Drive was directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, who took home the Best Director award at the Cannes Film Festival this year. Drive fishtails into theaters on September 16, 2011.
