It’s a short one this week, as I am out and about today.  We’ve got some superheroes, some sharks, some BSG….seriously you couldn’t ask for anything more.  Well….may a donut.  Or some donut holes.

Wonder Woman Travel Mug

Ok, seriously, this is a must have!  I would so transport my much needed go-go juice in a rockin’ Wonder Woman travel mug.  They also have Spiderman, Iron Man, Batman, Green Lantern, Hulk, and if you’re so inclined, John Wayne, Elvis and the Wizard of Oz.  Because everyone wants to think of those freaky ass flying monkeys over coffee. Shark Attack Mug

I love the idea of this.  And I would love to pull this on some unsuspecting soul.  I would not love it pulled on me, nor the resulting spit take that would ensue.  But you have to admit, it’s kind of funny.  Just imagine drinking a cup o’ Joe, or hot chocolate and you get toward the bottom, then BOOM!  There’s a shark staring at you.  For those observing, hilarity ensues.  For the victim, most likely third degree burns. Batman Stained Glass

Ok, this is pretty crafty I think.  You can buy this on Etsy and tape it to a standard window to get the stained glass effect.  Pretty cool, but I would really really and I mean REALLY love to see this done in actual stained glass.  Now that would be something really groovy. (via Nerd Approved)

Science Fiction Mystery

The Smithsonian has a bit of a mystery on their hands.  Locked away in their Raiders of the Lost Ark type warehouse, in their Medicine and Science collection, these old school eye glasses were found.  What made it more interesting were the little tiny Battlestar Galactica logos on the temple bars.  They’re trying to find out more information on them so if you know anything, give them jingle.  Click on the link and check out the full story and video. September 1st marks the anniversary of the death of Don LaFontaine.  You may not know the name, but you’ll sure know his voice.  He was also known as “the movie trailer guy”. Sound familiar now?  This promo was made as an intro to the 26th annual Hollywood Reporter Key Art Awards and features all those voices you’ll know when you hear them.  Watching this again makes me miss hearing Don’s voice on trailers.

Today marks Keanu Reeves 47th birthday.  Whoa!  To commemorate this auspicious event, I give you the theatrical trailer….to Speed.  Because nothing says Keanu like “There’s a bomb on the bus.”

Random News & Tidbits:

I loved The Walking Dead and am looking forward to the new season even with all the drama that’s been going on behind the scene.  But I just can’t get behind this idea. Ridiculous!

People are douche-bags with their shopping carts as it is.  We don’t need anything like this to make them even more douche-y.

For some reason I hate that I laughed at this….but I really laughed hard.  Out loud even.  I’m still laughing actually.

This is kind of icky, but I applaud this person’s creativity.

This person’s creativity? Not so much.  Definitely. Not. Ok.  The eyes…..this is what nightmares are made of.  Yes, nightmares are made of ground beef.  And bacon.

You know those people who keep on getting plastic surgery because they think it makes them look better but it actually just makes them look worse?  Yeah….that’s George Lucas when it comes to the  Star Wars original trilogy.

Now is the spirit of those Star Wars changes…..this would probably have been an improvement over anything George has done to the original trilogy.

This cat means business.  My cat, however would just look upon this with disdain, then flop over to take a nap.  Because that’s how she rolls.

Bionic limbs used to only be a part of some awesome fiction.  Now they are a reality and changing lives like this young girl’s.

We all have love affairs with certain films at one point or another.  It’s easy to forget that those in the industry do as well, and that’s why they do what they do.  Case in point: Damon Lindelof (writer for Lost) wrote a love letter to Raiders of the Lost Ark.
