You Don’t Want to See the Wonder Woman Pilot. No…Really You Don’t.
Ok…so apparently you do. Earlier this year there was a whole lot of broo-ha-ha on the web concerning the pilot for the new Wonder Woman series written by David E. Kelley. Who would play the coveted character, what type of treatment was she going to get etc. Then news came down that Adrianne Palicki won the role, which I really had no opinion of. Then….all hell broke loose once pictures of the costume came out.
News kept coming as the pilot was in production and everyone wondered just where it was going. Shortly after production wrapped, word came down that NBC opted to not pick up the pilot. Hearts were not breaking that day that’s for sure.
Well after watching this I can only say this: Thank God they pulled the plug on this series. This pilot is bad in all the worst ways. I hate to say it because I was really hoping to see Wonder Woman back on the screen be it large or small. This just makes me thankful and hopeful that maybe, just maybe she’ll get the treatment she deserves.
Live For Films has the complete pilot posted so head over there to check it out. It’s about 41 minutes, a lot of it painful. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Keep in mind that this is not a finished pilot. It’s very rough as far as visuals go and you can even still see the harness wires in some scenes. If you decide to check it out, come back here and let me know your thoughts.

Horrible is an understatement for that Wonder Woman pilot. I am so glad they came to their senses and did not put that on the air. You are right, hopefully this will leave the door open to a well made Wonder Woman feature or TV show.

PS I did like that Wonder Woman animated film DC released about a year ago.
I honestly don’t know how I made it through the whole thing. I did cringe quite a bit that’s for sure. I really would like to see WW get the treatment she deserves. It seems like animated series come closer than any live action series. I would love to see a film version, but that doesn’t look like it ever going to happen either. I guess if they can’t do it right, best thing is to just leave it alone. Thanks for reading & commenting!
