Saturday Trailer Wrap – 9/17/11

Movie-Trailers

Muppets and tattoos and zoos and scary underground Russian roulette clubs and cops!  You will see that there are no sparkly vampires present.  I already posted the trailer for the Breaking Dawn so if you want to see that, click here.  Otherwise you may proceed with today’s Trailer Wrap.

The Muppets

Ok, so this isn’t like a real trailer per se…..it’s a parody trailer.  Another one.  They’ve done a couple of these for this film so far and they’re all great.  This one is no different as it parodies a film on the other extreme end of the spectrum, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.  If you’ve seen that one you know it’s dark and brooding.  If you haven’t, it’s the next trailer so check it out.  Is it wrong to be almost 40 and actually excited for this film?  I think it has something to do with Jason Segel.  I guess this is the closest I’ll get to that Dracula Musical from Forgetting Sarah Marshall.  A girl can still dream.  November 23, 2011 is the day to play the music and light the lights. (via Coming Soon)

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Ok so I’m only including this one because I mentioned it above.  As a huge fan of the book and the Swedish version I still don’t get why they felt the need to remake this one, but I’m still planning on seeing it because quite frankly, it looks good.  TGWTDT hit theaters on December 21, 2011.  Just in time to spread some Christmas cheer!

13

Jason Statham sure is busy these days.  He’s in this one along with Mickey Rourke, Michael Shannon and Alexander Skarsgård.  It’s about a young man who assumes the identity of a dead man and finds himself in the middle of an underground world of power, money and gambling with the lives of other men.  13 hits theaters on October 28, 2011.

We Bought a Zoo

Ok, I’m a sucker for these kinds of stories so yeah I’ll probably go see this.  Matt Damon stars as a dad who tries to start over by buying and moving to a zoo.  Apparently it’s based on a true story and it’s directed by Cameron Crowe.  It looks like a perfect holiday family film.  Zoo hits theaters December 23, 2011.  So you can go see TGWTDT then go see this.  It’s a perfect double feature!

The Son of No One

Channing Tatum sports a moustache of evil in this one as a cop who is assigned to the neighborhood he grew up.  A neighborhood that harbors some serious skeletons if you know what I mean.  Al Pacino, Ray Liotta and Katie Holmes also star.  It looks ok.  Maybe a little over dramatic?  I’ll reserve judgement until I can see more about it.  This one hit theaters in limited release on November 4, 2011.
