The Goddess Goodie Wrap – 10/14/11

Goddess Goodie Wrap Header

Greetings earthlings.  This is really more of a Goodie Wrap-lite.  I do apologize for the shortness of it, but my civic duty has prevented me from spending time at a computer this week.  Jury duty sure does get in the way of things doesn’t it.  Anyhoo….I did manage to get a few things of interest.  Couldn’t leave you high and dry now could I?

Zombie Slippers

Since winter is approaching, it’s time to invest in something to keep your feet warm while you snuggle up on the couch.  And since The Walking Dead starts its second season on Sunday, why not get into the spirit of things with this lovely zombie slippers.  They look comfy, and warm and may be used to chase the cat around the house.  That’s what I’d do anyway.  I think these are a must have for winter.  (via Think Geek)

8-bit Wedding Invites

I love the idea behind themed weddings.  Some are really creative and some are just over the top.  This couple however did it just right.  The bride apparently wanted a Super Mario themed wedding and enlisted the help of her friend to design the invitations and favors.  The result? 8-bit awesome-ness.  Below is just a glimpse of the invite.  Check out Larry T. Quach’s blog to see all the photos. (via Nerd Approved)

Photography

This is really mind blowing.  Photographer Avanaut has created some truly spellbinding photos using Star Wars action figures/figurine and some creative sets.  They also show signs of action, movement and the like.  They really are a thing of beauty.  Check out the Flikr page to see others. Amazing Geeky Craft

Julie Gillrie wields a vicious needle and thread.  She created what she calls her Star Trek Quiet Book and it’s full of win.  To top it off, it’s interactive.  You can dress Picard as the Captain or as Locutus.  Pilot a shuttle back home and help Georgie see.  It’s incredibly creative and it can be yours for $10 from her Etsy page.  Check out her blog to see pics of the whole thing.  She also made one for Star Wars too. Skill Building Time Vampire

Oh. My. God.  This is one of the biggest time vampires I’ve come across….but it’s pretty awesome.  It’s a game, where you type to shoot, which helps build your typing skills.  Sounds fun right?  I just wasted a shit load of time on this and loved every second of it.  I finally died unfortunately or I would have just kept on going.  I fancy myself a pretty decent typist but I was starting to get a little stressed out there at the end.  You must check this out pronto.  (via Chrome Experiments)

Bones Mello, the AT-AT Dog

I kind of cringe whenever I see pets dressed up.  Most of the time the animal looks most displeased while the owner is giddy as a school-girl.  I feel bad for the animal when they sit there with a “help me” look on their poor faces.  That being said, my roomies and I have done that to our cat.  Nothing major…just a little elfin hat and collar.  She hated it and she let us know she hated it.  I have conflicting feelings for good ole Bones Mello here.  I love the creativity and the idea, but I still feel kind of bad for him.  Although he doesn’t look too upset about it.  The finished product is really kind of rad though.  The owner outfitted him with a full on AT-AT costume.  The entire process is documented on Bones Mello’s Facebook page so be sure to check it out. (Thanks to Kenny for sharing this on Facebook.)
