Saturday Trailer Wrap – 10/22/11

Movie-Trailers

It’s a short trailer wrap today folks.  But it’s chock full of fun stuff.  We’ve got some Piranha, some Chronicle, and some Harold & Kumar.  While you’re here, check out the post from yesterday detailing seven of my favorite guilty pleasure films.  Or take it back to earlier in the week and check out the elements in scary movies that freak me out.  It is Halloween time after all.

Piranha 2 3DD

It’s a ridiculous title, a ridiculous sequel to a ridiculous film, but I’m all over it.  I saw the first one, in 3D, in the theater with the Aunt and we both giggled through the whole thing.  My one complaint is the 3D makes the underwater scenes really murky and hard to see.  But anyhoo….the deadly fishies are back to nibble on silicone enhanced co-ed’s partying away on the lake.  Ving Rhames is back in this one and joining him is Gary Busey, a bunch of names I don’t recognize and the one, the only David Hasselhoff.  And since I have an unexplainable fascination for the Hoff, I will definitely go see this.  I know….I need to seek help.  Piranha 2 3DD will eat you up sometime in 2012.  Exact date has not been set yet.

Chronicle

Shot as a faux-documentary, Chronicle follows three high school friends as they make a startling discovery and develop super-human like powers.  At first they use these powers for their own amusement pulling harmless pranks, but then things take a turn for the worse and dark sides begin to emerge.  It would seem that they underestimated the power of the dark side.  I’m sorry…..I couldn’t resist.  Chronicle hits theaters February 3, 2012.

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas

You know how when a kid does or says something they aren’t supposed to and you laugh even though you know you shouldn’t but you can’t help it even when your spouse shoots you the stink eye because you’re laughing?  Then the kid sees you laughing and they start to laugh? Then your spouse gets pissed and leaves the room?  That’s how I feel about this trailer.  I think they should have stopped with the first film because it was awesome and hilarious.  But I have to say, this does look pretty funny.  Harold and Kumar reunite after a misdirected parcel ends up in Harold’s hands.  Laughs, pot smoking and NPH ensue.  A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas hits theaters on November 4, 2011.
