I posted about this film a while back wondering how it seemed that this film was filmed completely under the radar.  It’s got a high profile director and the cast is quite simply, off the chain.  Slowly but surely information finally started to leak out and several months ago we got a peek at the teaser and now we get a trailer.  It may be a short one but what it lacks in time, it makes up for in action.

This Steven Soderbergh directed film follows a CIA trained black ops agent (Gina Carano) who is sent on a mission, then betrayed by the very agency that employed her.  Now she’s on her own mission to find and eliminate those behind the betrayal.

Joining Carano, is Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton, Michael Douglas Channing Tatum and Bill Paxton among others.

How can you not get excited about a cast like that?  This film had me at Bill Paxton but throw in some Fassbender and I’m completely sold.  From the looks of it, there’s going to be a whole lot of ass kicking going on in this film and it seems that Carano is doing most of it.  Considering she’s from the world of MMA, I think it’s safe to say that she probably does her own fight scenes and she could seriously kick these guy’s asses without so much as breaking a sweat.

I love Soderbergh’s work and how he manages to assemble large pools of talent for his films.  I’m really looking forward to this one.  Check out the new trailer and let me know what you think.  Haywire hits theaters on January 20, 2012.
