Earlier this year I recapped the entire first season of SyFy’s take on the BBC series Being Human.  At first I was angry that it was getting an American treatment because I really love the BBC version.  Once I watched the pilot however, everything changed.  That’s actually the whole reason I launched this site if I’m being completely honest.  I wanted a place to write my thoughts about the show.  Hence, Reel Goddess was born.

The first season went by waaaaaaaaaay too fast but I felt comforted by the fact that SyFy picked the show up for a second season.  It was just going to be a long long wait.  Now the end of the year is approaching and the new season is set to air starting in January.  That’s right around the corner thankfully and now’s the time where we’ll start to see nice little tidbits here and there.

SyFy has posted the new promo for the second season and it shows all sorts of stuff.  Aiden (Sam Witwer) getting freaky with his blood lust, Josh (Sam Huntington) being Josh and Sally (Meaghan Rath) apparently gets to have herself a good time.  I don’t quite know what to make of all of this, but I am excited for the new season to start.

I’ve followed the BBC series for the three seasons that it’s been on and with the exception of some things, the SyFy version followed somewhat closely to the original.  Knowing what happens in the second season of the BBC series, I’m wondering if we’ll see similarities.  I think SyFy will head off in their own direction now that the foundation has been laid and that’s perfectly fine with me.  This show did a good job of finding its own voice and I think they should run with it.

We’ll find out on January 16th, when Being Human comes back for its second season.
