The Goddess Goodie Wrap – 3/23/12
So yeah….The Hunger Games hits theaters today, ok, well at midnight last night. It sold out, like, 8 gazillion showings in advance which is some crazy record. Reviews thus far have been favorable and it’s even certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. What better way to celebrate a film based on a book I haven’t read yet (I’m currently reading it now) than to devote a Goodie Wrap to it. Well, in a round about sort of way. Hunger=Food in my book. So therefore, this week’s Goodie Wrap is all food related. If you’re not hungry by the time you’re done reading this, then you’re doing it wrong.
Movie Inspired Food
We all know I love a good cake. I’ve said it a thousand times. I really love it when people do crazy wedding cakes and that’s what this is. Behold….the AT-AT Wedding Cake. (via Star Wars Blog)
I’ve seen pictures of some crazy Bento Boxes. They’re really super creative and this one is no exception. I have no idea what is in this thing….but it looks cool. And I’ve always been kind of fond of the jawas. (via Divine Caroline)
I just can’t really get behind gummi candy. Unless it’s sour. It gets all stuck up in your grill and then you go to talk to someone and the shit’s just stuck all over you teeth. Kind of nasty. But this….this is pretty cool. Throw out the gummi bottles and bears and what not and go for the Gummi Xenomorph. It’s actually pretty detailed and cool to look at. I still wouldn’t eat it though. (via Moviefone)
I suppose food is just as good as any other medium when it comes to being artistic. This Dart Vader sculpture, made from a carrot, is a prime example. Seriously, that must have been one gigantic carrot. (via Cakehead Loves Evil) (on a side note, I really dig the name of that website.)
I featured a gingerbread TARDIS a while back and while that was awesome, it really doesn’t hold a candle to this. The Gingerbread Hogwarts. I love the detail and the coloring on this and can only imagine the planning and patience it took. I can guarantee that I would not have the patience needed for something like this. (via Flavorwire)
Movie/TV Inspired Food Trucks
Owners of food trucks get pretty crafty with the names of their business. I never realized there were so many movie inspired food trucks out there though. I think I’ve featured this one before but it’s just so fun, I figured we’d have another look. The Grillenium Falcon…..serving up food, a long time ago in a galaxy not so far away. (via Foodista)
The Grillenium Falcon is a real food truck but these next few are trucks that I wish were real. FilmDrunk had a post a while back with Photoshopped food trucks and their ideas were genius! Starting with this on: Breakfast and Furious. I had a good chuckle at this next one. When I saw the truck, and it was a rip on Fast and the Furious I wasn’t sure what the think. Then I saw the name. What ties it all together is the picture of Vin Diesel behind that bowl of cereal. (via FilmDrunk)
My first though when I saw this one was whether or not they turn it up to 11.
Ba-Con Air. I would totally go here. Yes. Yes I would. If only it were real.
Hahahaha, Top Bun! Who am I kidding….I’d probably hit up all of these if I could. Unfortunately, my sector of these United States is not very food truck friendly. Hmmmm…..perhaps I should change that…..
Even though it’s depressing to think that only one of those are real, the others are genius ideas and someone needs to get on that stat! All this talk of food has made my stomach start to growl. Seems I have my own hunger games going on. Until next week…
