The Goddess Goodie Wrap – 3/30/12
Hey kids….I think I’m finally getting back into the swing of the ole Goodie Wrap. It’s been a stagnant couple of weeks, but I think you’ll be pleased with this one. A quick shout out to my new Twitter follower….you know who you are. Thanks for following and I hope you dig this week’s Goodie Wrap! Now on to the serious business! This week you’ll find more crap you don’t need, but will most likely want, some rather creative items and since I’m doing my part in educating the young ones, I’ve included one serious lesson. You’ll know it when you see it. Onward….ho!
This Week…on Etsy:
iHan Solo
Need a new case for your iPhone 4? I suggest this one. Etsy seller Jeff H. created this Han Solo Frozen in Carbonite case and to be honest, I have no words about this other than….it’s RAD!!! (via Etsy)
Superhero Light Switch Plates
Etsy seller Matt Knannlein has a lot of cool retro comic book items in his Intergalactic Design store. Light switch plates, magnets, bookmarks, etc. I’m all for themed light switch plates. They are one of the most boring decorative features in a house and I’m all too willing to spice it up. Personally I have a Captain Picard light switch plate in my room so I’m no stranger to geeking out even the most mundane things. I can get behind this idea, but I have to say….the positioning of the actual light switch leaves the door wide open for inappropriate, but funny jokes. (via Etsy)
Chestburster Cake
I love Alien! I love cake! I love Alien themed cakes!! A long time ago, when the Goodie Wrap was but a babe, I posted an awesome bride and groom chestburster wedding cake. Here’s another one, but this time it’s only got one chestburster. It is wrong to want this at my wedding when the day comes. Roomie is going to see this and think “over my dead body”. But a girl can dream right? He’s kind of cute actually. He’s bursting out of the cake in a “love & cherish me forever” kind of way. That is until he grows and eats your face off with his inner mouth. Harry Potter Eggs
Easter is right around the corner so those of you with kids will no doubt be preparing to deal with the nightmare that is coloring eggs. Take a note from these crafty peeps who went with a Harry Potter theme for their eggs. Now this is an egg decorating idea that I can get behind. The minute I saw this picture, I immediately started to think of how I could create Battlestar Galactica themed eggs. (via That’s Nerdalicious)
General Lee
If you’re anywhere near the same age as me, then all I have to say is General Lee and you’ll know what I’m talking about. I always appreciate seeing a fan pay tribute to something in the form of their car. I once saw a car in a parking lot in Oakland that was decked out as Speed Racer’s Mach V. The owner of this car clearly has a love for The Dukes of Hazard, AND a sense of humor. Why else would they deck out their smart car? Perhaps they zip around town in this pretending to out run Roscoe P. Coltrane, while also saving on gas. (submitted via email)
Poor Bastard
Kid…..there is something to be learned from this picture. First off, don’t drink and drive. It’s just wrong. Secondly, if you’re going to drink, make sure you’re of legal drinking age. C) If you are going to drink, make you never, ever, ever, never, ever and I mean EVER pass out in front of your asshole friends. Because this poor bastard didn’t heed those warning and now look at him. (via That’s Nerdalicious)
Atari Shot Glasses
I am not a gamer at all. But….growing up in the 80′s I did have an Atari 2600 console that I played the ever-living shit out of. I really wish I still had it, because I would still play it. We have a Wii system at home but to be honest the only thing I play on that is Super Mario Bros. 3. I guess I just have a love of 8-bit…and nostalgia. Perhaps that’s why I think these shot glasses are the bomb. Hey Roomies……we need these! (via Think Geek)
Numbers in Film
Here’s another video quiz folks. This one is all about numbers. More specifically, number is film titles. It goes very fast as the video is only about 30 seconds so pay attention. I’ll be honest, I had to watch it twice to get a decent score. How many did you get? (via Vimeo)

The Future of Film-making
Omstudios shot this 5 minute film using a RED Epic HD camera in an effort to demonstrate the abilities of their OMCOPTER. What is that you ask? It’s a remote-controlled helicopter of sorts that allows the camera to follow the film’s subjects without interruption. The makers of this video decided to use ninjas, which is awesome in and of itself, and you can clearly see the potential this device has. The best part about this is it eliminates the need for quick cut editing. There are only two cuts in this entire video. Two! That’s really impressive especially considering the altitude changes that take place. I also really like the effect of stirring up dirt that it has in the beginning. I hope to see this technique used in the future because I’m really over all that quick-cut action. (via Vimeo)
