Being Human Recap: Episode 3.02 – (Dead) Girls Just Want to Have Fun

Being Human Episode 3.03 - Meaghan Rath_Sam Witwer_Sam Huntington

Just to bring you up to speed in case you missed the season premiere last week, Aidan was dug up by a creepy human who wanted to use him as a milking/cash cow since his blood is clean.  Josh and Nora sought the help of a witch, who was able to not only able to bring Sally back from limbo, but also put her back in her own body…which means she’s solid once again.  The stipulation being that she has absolutely no contact of any form with people from her previous life.  The witch was very adamant about that part.  Oh…and when Sally came back from limbo, Stevie and Nick came back with her.  We also found out that by killing Ray, Josh is human once again, but Nora is still a werewolf.

This week’s episode, Sally finally gets to wear different clothes, Josh makes a big decision and Aidan loses that fantastic beard.

The episode kicks off with a lone figure walking down a dusty road to the Amish vampire’s house.  Once the gal opens the door, a man demands to know where his son is.  The vampires part like the Red Sea and the man sees the head of a werewolf nailed to the wall.  Turns out that this man is Liam, the father of Connor and Brynn, the purebred’s that Nora ran with last season.  Liam kills every vampire in the house and swears to his dead son that he’ll find Brynn, and will kill every blood sucker out there.

Aidan is right were we left him.  In the grass at the scene of the accident.  He manages to drag himself back to the van and starts feasting on his own blood just to get some strength.  Back at the house, a fully re-animated Sally, Josh, Nora and Stevie watch a touching reunion between Zoie and Nick.  They go on their way, and Stevie wants to get out and live as well.  Josh gives him some starting out money, and once he’s gone, Josh’s cell phone rings.  It’s Aidan.

Sally and Josh pick Aidan up at a pay phone (they still have those?) out in the sticks and Sally throws herself into his arms.  Josh and Aidan share a bro-hug and Aidan pieces together that Sally is actually solid.  They give him a brief run down of the events he’s missed, but it fries his brain just a tad.

Back at the house, Josh, Nora and Sally are in the kitchen when Aidan comes down showered and clean-shaven.  Sally wants to go out and party and have drinks, but Nora has to pass because of the full moon.  Aidan seems like he doesn’t know what to do.  Josh gets him a bag of blood, but Aidan explains to Josh that he can’t drink it because of the human virus.  Aidan goes to leave and Josh says he’ll go too, but Aidan tells him there are still some things that he doesn’t want Josh or Sally to see.

Josh and Nora enjoy a stroll, on the way to the storage unit when Nora tells Josh to take Sally out and have fun.  She also tells him that she knows he drops her off and waits outside the unit all night to make sure she stays safe during the change.

Looking to feed, Aidan heads to see Tracy, the blood whore (for lack of a better term).  She tells him that she had the virus and her blood will kill him, but gives him the name of someone who can help.  Aidan meets with a shady character in an alley and gives him an envelope of money for clean blood, but he gets a pack of burly werewolves who beat the crap out of him instead.  Out of nowhere, Henry shows up to save his ass.

Josh and Sally enjoy drinks and food at a local restaurant when Josh tells Sally that he is going to propose to Nora.  Sally tries to talk him out of it, telling him to give it some time, but then Trent, an old friend of Sally’s, recognizes her.  Much to Josh’s horror, she tells Trent that Danny was abusive and she had to fake her own death.  Josh tries to get Sally out of the restaurant, but Sally and Trent hit it off and continue to enjoy their booze and each other’s company.

Henry takes Aidan back to his rather swanky house and introduces Aidan to his girlfriend Emma.  Henry explains to him that Emma never got sick and is how he’s able to feed when needed.  Henry realizes that Aidan needs to feed and offers up Emma, but it makes Aidan a tad uncomfortable.

Meanwhile at the storage unit, Nora is preparing for the change when Liam shows up.  He introduces himself and tells her that he’s looking for Brynn.  She tells Liam that she hasn’t had any contact with Brynn for over a year and that the few weeks she ran with the siblings, were the most savage she’s ever known and that she couldn’t keep up.  So she came home.  Liam chastises her for using a storage unit to contain her and offers his estate.  Liam closes the door and tells Nora that they’ll change together because then he’ll find out what kind of wolf she truly is…and if she’s lying.

Sally tells Josh that she’s taking Trent home and asks that he give her a few hours of alone time.  To kill some time, Josh walks the city for the first time during a full moon.  Back at the house, Sally invites Trent in after making out with him a bit on the steps, but suddenly he doesn’t feel so great and makes plans to take her out the following night instead.  She agrees, kisses him goodnight and Trent leaves.

At Henry’s house, Aidan and Emma seek some privacy so he can feed.  She seems really uncomfortable and makes a comment about how hot it is in the room.  Aidan tries to open a window, but realizes it is sealed shut and there are bars over it.  Emma remarks that it normally doesn’t bother her, but sometimes she goes a bit stir crazy.  Aidan realizes that she’s not there of her own accord and just them Emma starts to freak out.  Henry enters and compels her to calm down and sleep, which she does.  Aidan reads Henry the riot act for what he’s doing but Henry tells him it’s the new normal.  Henry also makes the mistake of throwing Celine in Aidan’s face.

Once home, Aidan and Sally chat when she notices his “heroin chic” looks and offers her blood to him.  He has to refuse since she was already dead, he won’t get any sustenance from it.  Aidan remarks about how he can’t get used to being able to touch her and for a minute, you’d think something between them was going to transpire, however the awkward moment passes.

The next morning, Sally be-bops downstairs while Josh waits nervously to go pick up Nora.  Sally suggests that they go for breakfast and Josh spits out that he plans on asking Nora to marry him when he picks her up.  Sally tells him that no woman wants her proposal to take place in that type of situation.  Josh tells her that he has to take the leap because it feels right, but is cut off when they hear sirens outside the house.  They both go outside, only to see Trent in a body bag being loaded into an ambulance.  Josh comments that’s why Sally can’t have contact with anyone from her past…because they will die.

Henry goes home to find Emma is gone.  Aidan tells Henry that he let her go.  News which Henry doesn’t take kindly to at all.  Aidan tells Henry about how, while buried, he plotted out ways to kill Mother and get revenge, but once he got out, he realizes that he can’t keep living like he did the year prior to going underground.  He tells Henry that Henry is better than that as well, but Henry’s not in a forgiving mood, and storms away.

Josh arrives at the storage unit to pick up Nora, but all he finds is a trail of blood, and a big hole in the door.

So it looks like with the arrival of Liam (played by the menacing Xander Berkely) Josh and Nora are going to have a fight on their hands.  I’m also thinking that something could potentially happen between Aidan and Sally.  Sure it would be weird, but this show is full of weird situations.  I’m also thinking that Josh’s time as a human may be limited as well.  I don’t see him staying that way for long.

  1. Is it just me or is this season of Being Human x10 better then the last. I find myself counting down the minutes to the show being posted on Space… 12:01 am the night it airs, if anyone else is like me.

So far I’m really liking this season. I think the fact that it’s better has to do with the fact that Aidan, Josh and Sally are sharing more scenes together. Last season they were separated for the most part. The group function the best when they’re together. And the stories aren’t really focusing on outside drama (i.e. Suren), but rather more on the internal drama with outside influences with each character. I also like that Nora has been made a series regular now too. She adds a different dynamic to the group.
