Being Human Recap Episode 3.08 – Your Body is a Condemned Wonderland

Being Human Episode 3.08 - Sam Witwer_Sam Huntington_Meaghan Rath

I absolutely love Nora and expressed how happy I was when she became a series regular.  I still do love her, but oh my God, she is kicking my ass with her holier than thou attitude toward Aidan.  Does she not remember she killed Brynn?  Anyway, I get that she’s grieving and whatnot right now since Erin bit the dust so I’ll let it slide.  For now.  Anyway, I think the next few episodes are going to be a bit of an eye opener for her.  At first I was worried that it would put a strain on Josh’s relationship with Aidan, but that doesn’t seem to be the case thank goodness.  What did happen however, is one of my predictions came true in a round about sort of way.  We’ll get to that in a minute.

This season is in the home stretch and with only five episodes left, the shit is really going to hit the fan.  I haven’t seen any word on a fourth season just yet and I always get worried when SyFy waits to announce whether a series has been renewed or not.  The longer they wait, the more nervous I get.  This series likes to end with some sort of cliffhanger and I’m pretty sure they’ll do the same with the end of the third season.  Fingers crossed that if they do, we’ll get that fourth season to see what happens next.

Sally

Sally is falling apart.  Literally.  The last episode ended with her losing clumps of hair and the discovery of an open sore on her scalp.  She’s trying to hide her deterioration by wearing a hat, even though Josh questions her fashion choices.  While at work, Sally watches Max patch up a body and begins to interrogate him on the substance that he’s using.  You can see the gears turning in her head when she wonders if it will work for her too.  After Max has finished and left the room, Sally begins to pilfer his supplies but Max catches her in the act.  He demands an explanation, thinking she plans to use the stuff to get high.  She assures him that is not the case and actually comes clean about being dead, a ghost, and now being re-animated,  Of course, he thinks she’s crazy but I’ll give him props, he tries to understand.  But then he kind of freaks out and leaves.

Sally goes to visit Nick, to see if he’s having the same problem, but he tells her that everything is going great.  He seems a bit off, and he also seems a bit obsessed with the stray cat population by his house.  He gives Sally the here’s-your-hat-what’s-your-hurry treatment and ushers her out of the house.  Once she’s gone, Nick lifts his shirt to look at a decaying spot on his belly.  Then he sees a stray cat eating from the dish he put out and approaches it slowly.  Next thing you hear is the cat screeching, then the next scene shows Nick with blood all over his face.  So Nick is eating live cats and it seems to be healing him because the decayed spot is now gone.  Seeing as how I own a cat, I’m really glad they didn’t show it.  Hearing it was bad enough.

Later on, Max shows up at the house with his mortician kit and apologizes for freaking out.  He’s actually handling it all quite well to be honest.  He unloads all of his gear and goes to work trying to patch Sally back up.  Once he’s finished, I will admit that she looks better.  However, at that point Josh and Aidan rush in, and Sally has to ask Max to leave.  He gets pissed that she won’t tell him what’s going on, but she just tells him that they aren’t her secrets to tell.  He leaves, visibly frustrated and Sally goes to tend to her roommates.  Later that night, she plows though pretty much all of the food in the fridge and still isn’t satisfied.  It isn’t until she tears into a package of raw meat that she seems to finally start feeling better.  Looks like Sally is part of the (fashionable) walking dead brigade.

Aidan

Aidan is desperately trying to sail calm waters by staying out of Nora’s way.  As he leaves (rather early) for work, he’s stopped by Josh, who tells him that he doesn’t even feel like they live together anymore.  Aidan tells him the truth and that he’s just trying to stay out of Nora’s way.  Josh tells Aidan that he’ll take Nora out so that Aidan doesn’t have to sneak around the house.  Try as he might though, they do work in the same place and Aidan runs into Nora in the cafeteria at the hospital.  Nora tells him that she knows he’s a good guy, but she’s having a hard reconciling that in light of what happened to Erin, not to mention the two bloody ghosts that have taken up residence in the house.  She tells Aidan that for Josh’s sake, she’ll be civil, but once she finds out the truth about what happened to Erin, there will be hell to pay.  Sigh.  Aidan does however ask about how Nora got away from Brynn, which was an interesting turn.  Horrified, she asks if Josh told him the truth, but Aidan tells her no, that Josh would never betray her like that.  Regardless, her reaction confirmed his suspicion that she killed Brynn.

Later on, Aidan is hovering around Kat and looks like he’s just going to leave, until he doesn’t.  He gets her attention and tells her that he can’t meet with her later that evening.  She refuses to accept his excuse and he ends up waiting for her during one of her classes.  The two walk along on campus, until Liam and his were-goons show up.  Not wanting to start anything in front of Kat, Aidan goes along with Liam, telling her that he’ll call her later.  Kat, sensing something is amiss, calls Josh to ask if Aidan is in trouble.  Oh boy….is he ever.  The next shot we see is of a bloody, bruised Aidan who is strung up by chains in the basement of Liam’s estate.  Liam is torturing him senseless, trying to get information about Brynn.  Oh, and did I mention that all this takes place on the night of a full moon?  Aidan is running out of time and when Liam fills a syringe of tainted blood, Aidan decides to tell Liam what he wants to know.  He tells Liam that he killed Brynn…and that she cried like a bitch. Oh snap! This of course enrages Liam, but Josh comes to the rescue and shoots Liam just as he’s starting to change.  Josh works the chains off of Aidan and the two make it out, but not before Liam is able to inject Aidan with the tainted blood.

Once Josh gets Aidan home, and Sally gets rid of Max, Josh notices the black legion on Aidan’s hand and asks if the virus works that fast.  Aidan doesn’t respond.

Josh & Nora

After the initial shock of finding out Aidan’s kills are hanging about, Nora ends up going to meet with Liam on the down low.  He gives her a stalk of Wolfsbane as a tribute to Erin.  She asks him about it being bad for them, but he tells her that when a wolf dies, they should be buried in a field of it.  Liam does his best to turn Nora against Aidan and so far it seems to be working.  She slips up however when she refers to both Connor and Brynn in the past tense.  Liam picks up on it right away and Nora tries to cover her tracks.  Oopsy.

Later on, Josh takes Nora to look at a house that is entirely too much house for them.  The agent leaves them alone in the house and Josh figures it’s a perfect time to pop the question….which he does, even though Nora is set to turn that evening.  Nora’s shocked, but happily accepts and the two decide to…ahem…celebrate in a house that isn’t theirs, or going to be theirs.  Nice.

Once Nora leaves to head to her storage unit, Josh gets a call from Kat regarding Aidan.  Knowing Aidan is in danger, Josh calls Nora and asks where Liam changes.  She must know, because Josh pulls up outside of the gates at Liam’s estate.  When one of Liam’s were-thugs opens the gate to check out the abandoned car, Josh comes out of the trees and shoots him.  From there, Josh makes his way into Liam’s house and follows the noises down to the basement where he finds Aidan strung up like a piece of meat.  He overhears Aidan tell Liam that he was the one who killed Brynn and jumps into action when Liam begins to inject Aidan with tainted blood.  Josh gets off a couple of shots, and they hit their mark, but they must not be silver bullets, because all they do, is trigger Liam’s wolf to come out…which it totally does.

Josh is able to get Aidan out of his chains, and the two make their way out.  Josh’s gun ran out of bullets, but he’s still got a knife, which he has to use.  Josh stabs Liam, and is able to get out and get the door closed, but not before Liam scratches Josh on the arm.  Oh my….bad news for Josh.

Once they get home, Aidan works on Josh’s arm, and they tell Sally what happened, when Josh notices the legion on Aidan’s hand.  This night did not end well for anyone.

So to recap….Sally is somewhat of a zombie, Aidan has the vampire plague, and Josh will be a wolf once again.  My prediction a few weeks ago was that Josh would become a wolf again, but I figured it would be Nora who would do it and he would ask for it seeing it as the only way to protect her.  I like this much better especially considering how Liam feels about his pack.  Well, Josh is now part of that pack.  It will be interesting to see how all this plays out.  I think once Nora finds out that Aidan didn’t rat her out about Brynn, her feelings for him will change.  Plus I think she’ll see the truth about Liam.  At least I hope so….I’m super tired of her being such a bitch.  How they are going to work around Aidan and this virus though is beyond me.  Hopefully it’s not something that they drag out.  The clip that SyFy has on their site makes it seem like bad things are in store for our yummy vampire.  They can’t kill him off right?  Right?!

Hey! I am hooked on this show now, and you so called it about Josh! Except he is part of Liam’s pack, ick. Nora has just gotten plain annoying; little bratty Erin, was being manipulated and then murdered by Liam for his own purpose.

But, I like it even better now that Sally has her eating and decomposing issues, and the guy “I have a PHD and I am eating cats”, Josh, and Aidan w/the virus, make the show more exciting.

I am sooo waiting for GOT, just a few more weeks!

I knew that you’d like it. Glad to hear that you’ve gotten into it too. Yes, I figured Josh would become a wolf again, but didn’t even think about the possibility of Liam being the cause. I’m very curious to see how that’s all going to play out. Now that Aidan has the virus, I’m very curious to see how they will resolve it. I highly doubt they will kill him off…..at least I really hope they don’t. I have a feeling that we haven’t seen the last of the witch either. Poor Sally.

Exited for GOT to come back. Have you stuck with Banshee? The season finale is this coming Friday. I’ve stuck with it, but not sure I’ll continue on next season. BUT…I wanted to see if you watched the latest episode because after it was over they showed a little in production bit of Strike Back. Made me super excited for that one to come back!!
