Ok kids, here it is. The finale of Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome has officially ended. To be honest, these last two episodes contained a couple of surprises and went in a direction that I really didn’t expect. I’m very curious to see how the final response to this web series pans out and whether or not SyFy will continue it on in one form or another. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Sorry folks, the holiday weekend got the best of me and I failed in my duties with getting last week’s episodes posted. So here’s a twofer. With each passing episode, I like what they’ve done here more and more and become increasingly frustrated that this wasn’t picked up. I know I’ve bitched about that previously, but damn it….I’m mad. This series has a lot of what I love about BSG, but kind of turns it on its head a bit. I mentioned in the last post that I’m also loving the old BSG cast member that pop up. In episodes 5 and 6, we get another look at the ones I mentioned before, and to my surprise, John Pyper-Ferguson pops up. You may remember him as Stinger, the douchebag CAG of Pegasus on BSG, or as Thomas Vergis on Caprica. Most recently however, he played Stanton Parish on SyFy’s Alphas.
It’s kind of hard to believe that SyFy (or Sci-Fi as it used to be known) has been around for 20 years already. All that does is make me feel old. Creaky bones, age and name changes aside, SyFy plan on celebrating their platinum anniversary in style by airing a two hour special on Monday December 10th at 9pm EST/PST. Actors, directors, writers and producers will all rehash their favorite memories which I’m hoping means we’ll get some behind the scenes footage. Check out the official press release below.
I’m a bit late with this, but in case you missed it on Friday, here’s the next two installments of Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome. If you need to get caught up, you can watch the first two episodes here. With each passing episode, I can’t help but think what this series could have been if SyFy had really put their weight behind it. It’s shaping up to be a good entry in the BSG cannon, and really has potential, even though it wasn’t made for the web series format.
The long wait is over now that SyFy has finally made up their mind about the future of Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome. What was originally going to be a spin-off series to premiere on the network, turned into a television movie, then its future was undecided as it sat on a shelf. Finally SyFy decided to release what would be the two-hour pilot as a web series. Well as of this morning, those BSG fans who’ve been chomping at the bit to see their beloved series continue in some fashion finally have that opportunity.
Well hello you. Yes, yes, I know it’s been a while since we last saw each other but I’m back to start June off right with a Goodie Wrap. It’s even and extended Goodie Wrap at that and I know at least three people who will be happy. At least they better me. You know who you are! Enjoy!
After a tumultuous few hours yesterday, fan of Battlestar Galactica are still reeling over A) how awesome that trailer was and B) SyFy’s decision to not move it forward as a television series. Fans took to Twitter voicing both their excitement over how awesome the trailer was and also how disappointed they are in SyFy’s decision. I’ve compiled a baker’s dozen of tweets showing how amped up fans got after watching, and also the flip side….the utter disgust at the news handed down by SyFy. The build up and let down is awfully familiar. Where have I seen this before? Oh yeah….ON BATTLESTAR GALACTICA WHEN THEY FOUND EARTH ONLY TO FIND IT WAS A NUCLEAR WASTELAND AND UNINHABITABLE!!!!!! Ahem….anyway….check out these tweets. Maybe SyFy is listening so share with your friends.
I have been waiting on pins and needles for news about Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome. They filmed the pilot episode what feels like ages ago and while we got bits and pieces of information back then, we haven’t seen nor heard anything from the network (that I know of) on this project ever since. It’s been eerily quiet on the BSG front and I don’t like that one bit. Even my Twitter based questions sent to SyFy’s Twitter feed have gone unanswered. It was as if they wanted to forget all about it.
It’s a short one this week, as I am out and about today. We’ve got some superheroes, some sharks, some BSG….seriously you couldn’t ask for anything more. Well….may a donut. Or some donut holes.
