I’m not really one to post a lot of trailers but every once in a while I watch one that gives me goosebumps and instills within me a need to share it…even though every site on the web is posting it too. That’s exactly how I felt when I watched the (supposedly) final trailer for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. The first teasers that were released back in July with the same footage shown in each, with one being narrated by Russell Crowe as Jor-El, and the other by Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent, left me all tingly. The first full length trailer that was released back in December made me excited, but angry that I had to wait another six months to see the final product. Now with this latest trailer, the film’s release date is a short two months away and it can’t get here soon enough.
Back in August I think it was, Warner Brothers released two versions of the same teaser trailer for Zach Snyder’s Man of Steel. One was voiced by Kevin Costner, who plays Jonathan Kent, and the other was voiced by Russell Crowe, who plays Jor ‘El. They were very short (hence being a teaser) and didn’t show much at all. Today, however, we get a full length trailer that shows what we can expect from the upcoming reboot of the Superman franchise.
Writing a review for a film of this magnitude can be difficult. Being the third film in a trilogy, the final piece of the ongoing story and having two fantastic films before it makes it hard to NOT have expectations going in. With all of the clips, TV spots, photos, trailers, teasers and anything else the media has thrown around, we’ve been on Bat-overload for months now. I’ve done my best to stay away from all of it, opting instead, for the self-imposed blackout. I’m so glad I did because in doing so, it allowed the film to unfold for me in ways that it couldn’t have otherwise.
July 20th is getting closer and closer, which means that the third and final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman saga will come to a close. The third trailer was just released and after watching it three times, I’m still not quite sure how I feel about it. I’m probably one of the few who prefers Batman Begins, but I did love The Dark Knight. To give an example of how much I’m looking forward to TDKR, I drove 90 minutes to see Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol on IMAX just so I could see the six minutes of TDKR footage that was attached. It was worth it even if I couldn’t understand what the hell Bane was saying. But that’s all besides the point.
Finally! We finally get to see a peek at one of the most anticipated films of 2012. There was a teaser released back in July that didn’t show much aside from Commissioner Gordon talking to someone while laying in a hospital bed. There haven’t even really been any details on the synopsis.
Well things are moving forward with the new Superman reboot, Man of Steel. Today Warner Bros. sent out a press release that details the cast as well as a photo of Henry Cavill in the iconic blue and red suit. The results are pretty cool looking, but I do have some questions.
This week seems to be a mix of comics and creepy. Oh and a little smidge of action thrown in for good measure. There have been some great trailers coming out in the last couple of weeks. With Comic-Con taking place this weekend I suspect there will be loads of footage to feast on for the next week or so. Until then..onward ho!
