Halloween is fast approaching and with it comes my annual viewing of Poltergeist.  This is the time of year when television channels start to show their horror movie marathons and at any given time you’ll be able to find something scary on TV.  I’ve never shied away from a good horror movie and really want to find one that will make me afraid to go to sleep.  I’ve yet to find one, but there are films out there with sufficiently creep-tatstic elements.  Here’s a rundown on my favorites.

The Goddess Goodie Wrap – 10/7/11

It’s been an odd week what with the loss of Steve Jobs and all.  The film industry also lost Charles Napier this week which is also a bummer.  I saw him in person once in a diner in Tahoe and he looked cranky.  Like turbo cranky.  It was early though and perhaps he hadn’t had his coffee yet.  Regardless, he was one of those great character actors that even if you didn’t know his name, you’d know him when you saw him.  So RIP to both Charles and Steve.  Aside from that, the new show American Horror Story premiered and you can read my review / recap here.  Now it’s Friday and it’s time for this week’s Goodie Wrap.

Hollywood: Annihilating My Childhood, One Movie at a Time

The first blog post I ever wrote and posted online was about remakes.  Originally posted as a rant on my MySpace page, it then became my first ever blog post for an actual film blog.  Thinking back on that piece, my feelings still haven’t changed.  Hollywood is slowing desecrating my childhood with all the remakes.
