So yeah….The Hunger Games hits theaters today, ok, well at midnight last night. It sold out, like, 8 gazillion showings in advance which is some crazy record. Reviews thus far have been favorable and it’s even certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. What better way to celebrate a film based on a book I haven’t read yet (I’m currently reading it now) than to devote a Goodie Wrap to it. Well, in a round about sort of way. Hunger=Food in my book. So therefore, this week’s Goodie Wrap is all food related. If you’re not hungry by the time you’re done reading this, then you’re doing it wrong.
You ever have those characters in television shows, movies or even books that you just wanted to beat the crap out of? Then there are the characters that are vile and horrible human beings but you can’t help that you actually root for them. And then there are those who you know you should hate, but for whatever reason you just can’t. I threw together a list of my top seven, in no particular order, hates, loves and love to hates. Starting with…for me anyway, the one character that I had such a deep-rooted hatred for, it made me want to throw the book and not finish it. Yes it’s petty and immature, but hey, I couldn’t help it. Read on to find out who it is.
Sadly I wasn’t able to attend this amazing event, but luckily for me, I had a couple of dear friends that did. When I found out that they went, I asked if they would be willing to write a piece about the show and their experience in attending. To hear John Williams’ music in a film is one thing. To hear it live, performed by a symphony, conducted by the man himself is something that I can only imagine as being spiritual. So please, read on to hear about the show as witnessed by my friends, Amy and Augustine Velasco.
I posted two other trailers this week that are not included here. Harry Potter and Transformers 3 both warranted their own posts, well….just because. I have no other reason. Thankfully there were other trailers this week and I’ve bundled them up nicely for you.
So here it is. This is the beginning of the end. This is the first trailer for the last film in the Harry Potter series. Normally I would just include the trailer in my end of the week wrap up, but I have such a soft spot for HP, that I figured I’d give it its own post.
