Writing a review for a film of this magnitude can be difficult. Being the third film in a trilogy, the final piece of the ongoing story and having two fantastic films before it makes it hard to NOT have expectations going in. With all of the clips, TV spots, photos, trailers, teasers and anything else the media has thrown around, we’ve been on Bat-overload for months now. I’ve done my best to stay away from all of it, opting instead, for the self-imposed blackout. I’m so glad I did because in doing so, it allowed the film to unfold for me in ways that it couldn’t have otherwise.
Hello you. The talk this week has been all about Magic Mike (which starts today), the new trailer for Rian Johnson’s film Looper that stars Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Comic-Con, which is just a few short weeks away. Magic Mike I’ll be seeing tonight so look for a review in the next few days. The trailer for Looper I haven’t posted because I’ve heard it’s rather spoiler-y and I refuse to watch it because I want to go in blind on this film. And Comic-Con, well, I will not be going and am once again upset by that fact. One of these years I’ll make it down to San Diego. There are loads of good stuff going on this year and the program guide is now available. And just a side note….if anyone is planning on going to the Lost Girl panel let me know. Would love to post pics and a write-up about it…just sayin’…. With that, here’s the latest and greatest.
Well hello you. Yes, yes, I know it’s been a while since we last saw each other but I’m back to start June off right with a Goodie Wrap. It’s even and extended Goodie Wrap at that and I know at least three people who will be happy. At least they better me. You know who you are! Enjoy!
July 20th is getting closer and closer, which means that the third and final installment of Christopher Nolan’s Batman saga will come to a close. The third trailer was just released and after watching it three times, I’m still not quite sure how I feel about it. I’m probably one of the few who prefers Batman Begins, but I did love The Dark Knight. To give an example of how much I’m looking forward to TDKR, I drove 90 minutes to see Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol on IMAX just so I could see the six minutes of TDKR footage that was attached. It was worth it even if I couldn’t understand what the hell Bane was saying. But that’s all besides the point.
Welp….tomorrow marks the final day of 2011. This is the time of year where all of the movie sites out there are counting down their top 10 lists, favorite films, favorite television shows, favorite hates and the like. Instead of doing all these different lists, I’m going to throw some of my favorite things and favorite posts into the final Goodie Wrap of the year. It’s been an interesting year what with the hits and misses at the movies, as well as on television. I’ve seen some kick ass web series make their mark and have found, and purchased I might add, some ridiculous products that just aren’t necessary so let me take a minute and wrap up the year for you.
Finally! Finally there’s a trailer for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I’ve been waiting for that one. I also have some funny, some lovey-dovey and some serious for you. Onward, ho!
Well after the craziness that was WonderCon last weekend, I’m back to my normal routine this weekend. Well, what I consider normal anyway. So here’s your weekly trailer wrap. Luckily there was a little more to choose from this week than there was last week. Let’s get to it.
