Goddess Rant – An Open Letter to Paranormal Activity

Paranormal Activity 4

Dear Paranormal Activity,

A wise man by the name of Albert Einstein once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.  While I’ve joked, on numerous occasions I might add, about that very topic, it has never really rang true.  Until now.  You see, I knew last October that we hadn’t seen the last of you.  So naturally I wasn’t surprised to see you pimping yourself out with the teasers (which seriously, those are really unnecessary), trailers, clips, etc.  It’s that time of year when the horror…or should I say “horror” movies come out of the woodwork, so of course you were going show up again.

Paranormal Activity 3 Review

Paranormal Activity 3 - Banner

I’ve been a faithful follower of the Paranormal Activity series since the first one came out only two short years ago.  The found footage style wasn’t anything really new since The Blair Witch Project already blazed that ground in 1999, but it still had a quality to it that made the film feel authentic.  With last year’s release of part two, I was nervous about a sequel but really loved how they tied it in and gave us a bit of history.  With the promise of a third installment going back even further into the sister’s lives, I thought for sure, we’d finally get to see the origins of the haunting.  That was my big question.  “How did this all get started?”  “Where did this demon come from and why is it attacking these two sisters?”  Did Paranormal Activity answer my questions?

Movie-Trailers

This week seems to be a mix of comics and creepy.  Oh and a little smidge of action thrown in for good measure.  There have been some great trailers coming out in the last couple of weeks.  With Comic-Con taking place this weekend I suspect there will be loads of footage to feast on for the next week or so.  Until then..onward ho!
