Two more months to go until the second season of Game of Thrones premiers. I’m desperately trying to tear through the second book before that happens and have tried my hardest to stay away from all things spoiler-y. That being said, I couldn’t resist the call of this trailer so I watched it. Twice.
Last week we saw the first trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman. This week we get a look at the second Snow White film that will be released called Mirror Mirror. They may come from the same source material, but these trailers show that these are two very different films and should not be confused with each other.
Happy Friday everyone. Hope you all are able to get out there and enjoy that fabulous weather we’re having. Well, at least in my part of the world. I’ve got more randomness for you this week so without further adeiu….here’s the Goodie Wrap.
Oh my! This was the episode I’ve been dreading. I have been keeping my fingers crossed that maybe just maybe they would deviate from the source material just a little bit so what happened in the book wouldn’t happen in the show. But alas, they stayed true. Knowing what was coming I was still shocked by the event. For those who don’t want to know, don’t continue reading. Consider this your spoiler alert.
Six episodes in with only four to go. There’s still a lot of ground to cover in regards to all of the different threads, but everything is slowing starting to come to a head and come together. This week’s episode had a new writer credited and whenever I see her name, it makes me very very happy. I caught it in the credits and even backed it up to make sure I was seeing right. Sure enough Jane Espenson worked on this episode and anytime she’s around, excellent writing is a guarantee. The woman knows how to write complex characters and stories so this episode was a real treat. I wish I could say the same for some of the characters though because a couple of them didn’t have such a great time.
Things are really starting to pick up now that we’re getting further into the story. I would imagine that the rest of the episodes will move pretty quickly. If this season ends at the same point as the book, they have a lot of ground to cover and things start to pick up with Cripples, Bastards and Broken Things.
Well if you didn’t already have some hate cemented for certain characters in the first episode, you will with the newest one. I felt they covered quite a bit of ground this week but may not have advanced the actual story too far. The did however give a bit of history in regards to the different relationships that have made up and continue to make up the realm.
After much anticipation (on my part anyway) and a heavy-handed ad campaign, HBO’s new series Game of Thrones premiered last night with the episode titled “Winter is Coming.” The series, based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin will follow the first book of the same name.
